South Tahoe is a world-renowned ski destination offering scenic lake views, fast-paced night-life, lots of sun and, of course, wonderful snow conditions.
Heavenly Ski Resort is in the heart of town so skiers can dive right in and head down its 2,200 feet of vertical rise on their choice of 97 trails. Known for its grooming and corduroy-groomed cruisers, Heavenly also has many options for chutes and gated access to extreme backcountry terrain. Its 29 chairlifts are conveniently spread across the mountain, including nine high-speed lifts.
While in South Tahoe, head further south and check out Sierra-at-Tahoe and Kirkwood ski resorts both accessible by shuttle.
Sierra-at-Tahoe has been nationally recognized for its pipes and overall quality, but it is equally known for its 100-plus acres of beginner terrain, four beginner-only conveyor lifts, and PSIA Certified Instructors.
Kirkwood boasts an average of 472 inches of seasonal powdery snowfall thanks to its relatively high elevation. Kirkwood’s ridge line offers great opportunities for cornices and plunges as skiers drop more than 2,000 vertical feet.
